Color palettes for wherever you create

Find a palette. Build your own. Take it anywhere.

Qolorio’s Color Palette Generator is a standalone palette explorer, generator and private image color extractor for designers, illustrators, developers, artists, creators and anyone who works with color.

Use Explore to search thousands of palette families. Use Create when you want to start from your own colors, a harmony, a mood or a surprise. Use From Image when the colors are already hiding in something you can see.

Your image stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to Qolorio for color extraction.

Whether the result ends up in a website, illustration, brand, presentation, game, social post, interior concept or personal project is entirely up to you.

Find it. Shape it. Take it somewhere useful.

Palette first or system first?

Qolorio gives you two larger ways to work with color.

Use Qolorio’s Color Palette Generator when the palette itself is what you want to explore, build or export. It supports anything from 2 to 256 colors and is designed for larger palettes, creative color collections and palette-first workflows.

Want to see a direction in a website? Live Canvas is a focused preview for testing a compact set of website color roles in context. When the palette needs to become a full project, continue in Color Studio.

Use Color Studio when a more compact palette needs to become a working design system. Studio adds foundations, semantic roles, realistic previews and contrast testing for palettes of up to 20 colors.

You can start here in Palettes and take the colors into Studio later when you want to give them practical design jobs.

Palettes finds and builds the colors. Studio turns colors into a system.

From 2 to 256 colors

Start focused. Expand when the project needs more.

Every palette created with Qolorioโ€™s Color Palette Generator can be resized to any whole number between 2 and 256 colors.

Use one of the quick sizes when you want to move fast, or choose Custom when the project needs an exact number.

Small palettes make decisions easier. Large palettes give you more steps, shades and transitions while keeping the character of the source family.

More colors create more possibilities. They do not automatically create a better palette.

Explore more than a list of swatches

Set the number of colors you need, then use Search, Category, Mood and Style to narrow the library, or start with Popular Picks when you simply want a useful direction.

Search can understand much more than palette names. Try a place, feeling, era, material, subject, creative discipline or use case.

Open a palette to inspect its colors, change the palette size, find similar families, copy values, keep a temporary favorite or export it.

Creative palettes sit alongside functional families for data visualization, UI semantics, mapping, print, grayscale and color-vision-aware workflows.

Functional palettes include guidance about their intended anchor colors. If you resize one, recheck the generated intermediate colors for the final accessibility, print or categorical-distinction requirement.

A useful starting point still needs a final check.

Create from your own idea

Bring a color. Or six. Or just a mood.

Start from one to six HEX colors and choose a harmony. Qolorio preserves every base color you entered and builds supporting colors around them.

Not starting from a color? Describe a mood, place, atmosphere, material, era, weather or visual style and Qolorio searches the indexed library for a direction that fits.

Or choose Surprise Me when you want a controlled creative jump. Most surprises remix compatible Qolorio families; some bring back an existing Library palette.

You choose the starting point. Qolorio helps build the company around it.

Turn an image into the colors you actually want

Automatic when it helps. Precise when it matters.

Choose an image and decide how you want Qolorio to read it.

Faithful stays close to the measured image colors.

Simplified prioritizes clearer, more distinct colors for drawing, painting and practical palette use.

Artistic keeps picked colors exact while adding a little more harmony and chroma around them.

You can analyze the whole image, pick exact colors yourself, add Focus areas to give part of the image more influence or mark Exclude areas that should be ignored.

When the palette is ready, view it in a designer-friendly order or by estimated image share.

And throughout the process, the image stays local to your browser.

The image provides the evidence. You decide what matters.

Export for the tool you use

Choose Export and take the colors into your workflow.

Pick a destination such as Adobe apps, Procreate, Affinity, Krita, GIMP, Inkscape, Canva, Figma, SketchUp, web development or a general developer workflow. Qolorio then moves you straight to the compatible download files for that destination.

Depending on the workflow, formats include ASE, ACO, ACT, GPL, CSS, SCSS, JSON, design tokens and CSV.

Need something universal? Basic files includes SVG, PNG, JPEG, BMP and PDF palette sheets alongside TXT and CSV.

Choose a useful file name before you export. On supporting browsers, Qolorio can open the native Save As flow; elsewhere it falls back to a normal download.

Explore it. Create it. Extract it. Take the colors wherever you create next.

Need to turn the palette into a working design system? Continue in Color Studio when you want to assign semantic roles, choose a light or dark foundation, see the colors in realistic previews and test key contrast relationships before export.
