Color Converter
One color, every useful format
Enter a color as HEX, RGB, HSL or another supported format. OKLab and OKLCH describe differences in ways closer to human perception. See the color glossary.
Examples: #CD5C5C, rgb(205 92 92), hsl(0 53% 58%), IndianRed.
What does the Color Converter do?
Same color. Different language.
A color can be written in many ways.
Enter a HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, HWB, CMYK, OKLab or OKLCH value – or simply use a CSS color name – and Qolorio converts it into the other supported formats.
The notation changes. The color stays the same.
One color does not need one code.
Which color format should you use?
There is no single best color format. Different formats are useful for different jobs.
HEX
Compact and familiar. HEX values such as #6C5CE7 are widely used in web design, design tools and digital color palettes.
RGB
Describes a color through its red, green and blue components. RGB is closely connected to how digital displays produce color.
HSL, HSV & HWB
These formats describe color in ways that can feel more intuitive when exploring or adjusting hue, saturation, lightness, brightness, whiteness or blackness.
OKLab & OKLCH
Modern perceptual color spaces designed to make numerical changes correspond more closely with how differences between colors are perceived.
OKLCH is particularly useful when you want to work with lightness, chroma and hue more deliberately.
CMYK
CMYK describes color using cyan, magenta, yellow and black, the familiar components of many print workflows.
A conversion can provide a useful numerical reference, but it is not a substitute for a printer profile or color-managed print proof. Printed results also depend on inks, paper and production conditions.
Use a name or find one
Browsers recognize a standard collection of CSS color names. Enter a name such as IndianRed, CornflowerBlue or BlueViolet, and Qolorio converts it into its numerical color values.
Have a code but no name? The Color Name Finder gives your color a memorable Qolorio name, the closest CSS reference and nearby alternatives.

Why convert a color?
Color conversion is useful when you move between tools and workflows.
You might have a HEX value from a website, need RGB for another application, want HSL for easier adjustments or use OKLCH while building a more systematic palette.
Instead of choosing the color again, convert the one you already have.
Keep the color. Change the coordinates.
