What does the Color Name Finder do?
A color can be precise and still have personality.
Enter a HEX, RGB, HSL or CSS color name, choose a color with the editor or pick one from your screen. Qolorio turns it into a memorable name you can use in a palette, a concept or a conversation.
Alongside the Qolorio name, you will see the closest standard CSS color name, its similarity score, hue and intensity. The suggestions are close starting points, not a claim that a color has only one correct name.
Numbers identify a color. Names help people remember it.
How Qolorio finds a name
Qolorio looks at the color’s family, lightness and intensity. This is why a deep, saturated purple can receive a different name from a light, muted purple, even when both belong to the same broad hue family.
The closest standard name comes from the CSS color-name reference built into modern browsers. A 100% match means the selected color is exactly that standard value. Lower scores mean the name is the closest available reference, not an exact equivalent.
The extra suggestions come from the same Qolorio color-family vocabulary used elsewhere in the plugin. Choose one to inspect a representative nearby shade and keep exploring.
From a name to a working color system
A name is a useful starting point, not the end of the decision. Choose Use as Studio base color to open the selected color in Color Studio as the base of a new project.
There you can add supporting colors, assign practical roles, preview the system in context and check important contrast relationships.
